The facts:

Lindsay + Jordan were married on June 21, 2009 at St. Matthews Episcopal Church in Westerville. Their reception followed at Creekside in Gahanna. They were surrounded by family and friends. Everyone was blissfully happy.

The story:

As I entered the room where Lindsay and her fabulous bridesmaids were prepping for the day, donning accoutrements and exchanging well-wishes, I doubted I was in the right place. You see, the air in the room was calm. Peaceful, even. No stress. No worry. No drama. Just Lindsay and her closest ladies drinking in the day, savoring the last moments together before Lindsay’s life changed forever. And oh, the laughter. Indescribable laughter. I would have thought I was in a room full of little girls had I not peeked out from behind my camera long enough to re-enter the reality of the situation. Beautiful Lindsay was about to make one of the most important vows of her life – she definitely wasn’t a little girl any longer.

The atmosphere in Jordan’s room was appropriately similar (minus the girly laughter). There was a energetic ambiance – a hint of the excitement that was just minutes away. Jordan was a bit more subdued than his naturally bubbly bride, but their happiness was shared, even across a crowded church, even before they had seen the look in each other’s eyes, even before either of them stepped into the sanctuary.

Next, they prayed. Heartfelt prayers of hope, joy, and protection – loved ones gathered together to support the connection that was being sealed that day. As Lindsay started her walk down the aisle with her father by her side, it was apparent that there were many others walking beside her – family, friends, and God had all journeyed with her to that glorious precipice – all that was left to do was to jump head-first into the greatest adventure of her life. And as she reached Jordan at the altar, Love itself enveloped them and joined them together – inseparably, insatiably, and infinitely.

Everything

Yeah, I’m that girl. The one who writes weird things like “I love Jesus” on her business blog and posts videos like the one below that moved me to tears. Keep watching all the way through to the end. Just trust me on this one.

I’m a logical person – to a fault, even. So, when people ask me to tell them why I believe that Jesus came to do what we never could, I want desperately to give them some kind of concrete answer. But I can’t because that’s not what compelled me toward Him in the first place, and that’s not what keeps me hanging onto Him day after day. What keeps me here, in a place of seemingly pathetic reliance on the triune God is the fact that I’ve tried it on my own, and I just got sick of my own voice. So I tried listening to the silence, and I discovered it wasn’t silence at all – just the quiet calling of a Savior who’d been there the whole time, pulling me ever closer.

Wedding Sneak Previews

Wedding season is in full swing, and while I’ve got some MAJOR blog posts on the way with ridiculous amounts of sweet images, I just wanted to whet your whistle with two of my first-run favorites!

Lindsay + Jordan. I’ve never met two people more perfect for each other, and I don’t say that lightly. Lindsay is spunky and fun, and Jordan just watches her in amazement. I LOVE every moment with them.

Here they are during their first dance. This one takes my breath away. Literally.

Mallory, Michael + Faith

Meet Mallory, Michael + Faith.

11

When Mallory and I spoke for the first time via email, I knew I loved her.  We reminisced about memories from our ’80’s childhoods and agreed to meet at one of Central Ohio’s only beaches for a fun-filled family session focused mostly on her adorable daughter, Faith.

On the day of our session, with the sun kissing us and the waves lapping at our feet, I knew that we were doing something so much more important than taking pictures. We were documenting an era in the life of a beautiful little family – an era that can never be repeated, but one that will always be cherished.

Mallory, Michael and Faith, thank for you spending the afternoon with me, and for the pleasure of your company!
