Matt, Katie + Audrey

Meet Matt, Katie + Audrey!

If they look familiar, it’s because you also saw them here!

They make up one of the most amazing families I’ve ever met! Matt and Katie are just so authentically cool. They have great style, but it’s totally unpretentious, and you can see their honesty and good sense of humor already coming out in their adorable nine-month old daughter, Audrey.

So beautiful. Audrey loves her mom and dad, which was evidenced by the fact that even my best attempts and amusing her never resulted in a smile even half as bright as when her dad made funny faces at her or her mom sang Old McDonald Had a Farm!

We spent the afternoon together at their charming home and then made our way down to a little hideaway of a park in their neighborhood. They were totally willing to do anything to “get the shot”, like sitting in the dirt in their nice, clean clothes. What good sports!

We also spent some time in Audrey’s room, which is perfectly vintage and girly!

I just had to laugh when I first saw this photo! This is a very good indicator of what our family sessions are really like! We did a lot of waiting on that path for bikers and pedestrians to pass. Unsurprisingly, one of my favorite images is a happy accident!

Jon, Suzy + Elliott – Back for More!

Meet Jon, Suzy, and Elliott.

Look familiar? That’s because they’re ALL OVER the blog! Gorgeous Suzy let me photograph her just before baby Elliott made his arrival. And then, all three of us got together for these super fun family pics!

Just a couple weeks ago, the four of us (plus my best friend Garth!) headed to the light-filled warmth of Franklin Park Conservatory to celebrate the soon-to-come-Springtime! It was a little blistery outside, but it was tank-top weather under the glass cathedral of the Palm House. Jon and Suzy were great sports and they didn’t even look at me like I was a crazy person for suggesting they encourage their kid to crawl around on the icky public floor. I’ll go ahead and add that to the ridiculously long list of reasons I *LOVE* this family.

I love photographing kids because they grow so fast that it’s an amazing privilege to be able to freeze time enough to capture the little details! Like the fact that Elliott is sooo on the verge of walking. He’s got the standing shimmy down pat; it’s just a matter of time before he starts running away from Suzy at the grocery store or decides that going down the stairs must be just as easy as climbing up. ;)

Look at the baby hair! Sooo cute. I just couldn’t resist.

Mmm, chunky baby thighs. They look eerily similar to the turkey legs at the fair, huh?

Suzy is one of those amazing people with the kind of trendy style that has always been elusive to dorky people like myself. She found this adorable Beatles shirt at a thrift store. And how about that hat? So spiffy. Speaking of Suzy’s style, check out her etsy store for her one-of-a-kind-but-still-affordable jewelry!

For all of you non-locals, the sculpture in the foreground of the next picture is a Chihuly. Even if you’re not an artsy person, I’m pretty confident that his work will either touch your heart or mess with your mind, or both! ;) Check him out!
