Michael Phelps, eat your heart out!
August 18, 2008 – 11:36 pm
For those of you who wonder why it always takes me so long to return phone calls, here’s the honest-to-goodness truth: I’m probably playing the Nintendo Wii at my day-job.
Here I am wearing two, count ‘em, two bronze medals. I fought adversity and struggled through weeks of training to prepare for the Company-Wide Wiilympics. Garth would massage my thumbs every night before bed so I wouldn’t cramp up the next morning during team practice. Although team Italy did not rank high in the final standings (my team brought me down, obviously!), I wore my medals with pride at our closings ceremonies, where Ade snapped this photo with her phone.
So, dearest readers (and beloved clients), the next time you call me and, after seemingly endless rings, get bumped to my voicemail, please be patient. Remember, I’m working hard. I’ll call you back when I’ve got a gold.
Ronni + Adam
August 3, 2008 – 4:47 am
Meet Ronni + Adam. They sure look happy, don’t they? I had the honor of flying out to Chicago to shoot their blissful, energetic, quirky, and absolutely positively sincerely “Ronni and Adam” wedding! They had originally planned to marry in November, but in true artist fashion, decided to go with their instincts and get married on the beach in an impromptu, laid-back ceremony, surrounded by their closest family and friends.
Check out some of the highlights of the time I spent with them, and don’t forget to click through the slideshow at the bottom for a true play-by-play of all the fesitvities!
Here’s a shot of Ronni’s ring from our super fun trip on the El, Chicago’s elevated train. The ring is ornate and delicate, an heirloom from Adam’s family.
This is Ronni’s adorable son Aidan, who, when I first saw him, declared “I’m shy!” Now, I’d never call such a sweet kid a liar, but does this ham look at all shy to you?
Here’s how boys get ready for weddings. They take a 3 minute shower, throw on their clothes and then pass time leisurely until their brides are ready… Not that I’m jealous or anything.
Adam, one of the proprietors of Chicago’s most entertaining tour service, Weird Chicago, was kind enough to transport us to the beach in his very own short bus! In my humble opinion, there’s no better place for romance!
We spotted this beautiful mosaic mural on an underpass below Lake Shore Drive in Edgewater. I knew in an instant that we HAD to stop for photos. I had to stand in the middle of the street to capture these.
I snapped this one just before all of the guests started screaming, “CAR!!”. Confused, I turned around and quipped “GAME ON!” a la Wayne’s World. It was then that I realized they were trying to warn me that a mid-sized sedan was about to run me over. Smooth, huh?
