Suzy (& Baby Elliott)

There is one word that best describes Suzy… NOBODY-ELSE-LIKE-HER-ON-THE-PLANET! Um, let’s not dwell on the specifics of “one word”, okay? Work with me here. Anyway, the moment Suzy scheduled her maternity session, I knew we had to shoot it here!

One of her favorite stores is a little boutique in downtown Powell, Ohio called Bloomsbury Loft. This place is like a small-town Anthropologie, only friendlier, cheaper, and cuter! So, I presented my idea to Karla (one of the sweet owners), and she was thrilled about the prospect of having us shoot there!

Suzy and I (and don’t forget about baby Elliott) had an amazing time traipsing around the store on a sunny afternoon, being reminded of just how precious it is to see life peeking its head out into the cold winter and slowly but surely opening the door to springtime and new beginnings. The images turned out quite lovely. I’m not surprised, though. With a girl as beautiful as Suzy and a location as delicious as Bloomsbury Loft, there was no way I could go wrong!

So, what do you think? I couldn’t imagine a better marriage of fun and fashion, sweetness and sophistication!

What’s so exceptional about Edward?

Phat beats, of course. And stylin’ hair. And sequins, naturally. I had the privilege of being a VIP guest at Exceptional Edward’s uber-awesome CD release party. That just means I got to haul amps into the bar and drag them off the stage at 1am. Such is the glamorous life of a delicious bass player’s wife. Luckily, I was able to dodge the heavy lifting long enough to fire off these shots of the rockstars in action. Check out Exceptional Edward’s new record Lost at Sea on iTunes, or at their myspace page. This record was written, performed, produced, mastered, published, and distributed by the boys themselves.

Oh, and I got to design the album artwork based on a painting by the ridiculously talented Gary Shaw. You like it?

Erin + Jimmie

Erin & Jimmie make me think of springtime. And love.  I had the pleasure of photographing them for a “just for fun” session. Even though they’re not technically newlyweds anymore, they couldn’t stop giggling, playing, and dare I say flirting with each other! When I looked at Erin and Jimmie, and even as I remember what a joy it was to be in the presence of that kind of tenderness, I can’t help but believe that love grows stronger, purer, and funnier the longer you stick to it! Cheers!

P.S. Kindly leave a comment to let me know whether these sparkly new pictures are just too big and beautiful to be easy to view in your browser window. I want to make sure you don’t have to spend most of your time here scrolling!
